Rick Mitarotonda
Last Thursday marked the first show of the first Orebolo tour ever. Orebolo is an acoustic side project for three members of the upcoming and coming Connecticut based jam band, Goose. The concept came about during the covid-19 pandemic when Rick Mitarotonda (guitar), Peter Anspach (guitar, keyboards) and Jeff Arevalo (percussion) were stuck living together under one roof. They did what any talented quarentining musicians should do: live streams.
Goose shagged and bragged last Sunday at the historic Palladium in Worcester, Mass in celebration of Halloween. The band dressed as characters from the movie Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me while playing covers from the soundtrack mixed with their originals. Covering other bands is a time honored tradition in the jam band world on Halloween.
Connecticut based jam rock quintet Goose unfurled sweet covers and tasty originals last Saturday on the first of their two night stand at the sold out Palladium in Worcester, Mass. This group has seen a remarkable growth surge compared to Halloween weekends past, having played at the 500 person capacity South Farm in 2020, albeit this capacity constraint was partly because of the covid-19 pandemic. In comparison, the Palladium capacity is 2600.
Coming in hot from the night before, Goose closed the opening run to their fall tour with a burning show at Terminal 5 in New York, NY that included a surprise third set. The band sold out the two-night run at the 3,000 person venue and did not disappoint their fans with tasty bust-outs and debuts.
Goose, the scorching hot jam band on the rise from Connecticut, achieved liftoff into their 2021 fall tour on Friday night at Terminal 5 in New York, New York for a sold out crowd that was five times larger than their prior New York City show. Despite the crowded setting, the band delivered a new original and a previously unplayed Vampire Weekend cover, among other set list niceties and surprises, to dazzle new fans and reward the veterans.
