Vince Herman

It had been way to long since I last saw Leftover Salmon play together as a band. I recall the last time, way back in 2004, driving to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in upstate New York, destined to see the band play as a festival headliner in one of their final gigs before ‘hiatus’.

The greater Boulder-Denver area is growing as an undeniable mainstay of excellent live music and the culture contained within. We get the likes of the best acts in jazz, rock, jam-band, electronic, and popular music. Something about the devotion and enthusiasm of our crowds keeps bands coming back to this very specific location. Naturally we also have plenty of mainstay bands that grew in popularity out of Boulder-Denver if they weren’t born there to begin with.

Nestled away in the Manistee National Forest in the northern part of the mitten lie the beautiful grounds that Hoxeyville Music Festival calls home. The ninth installment of the festival proved to be one of the most exciting and eclectic lineups to date.

Right now there is a special on Desert Rocks Music Festival tickets, go buy yours and get ready to get groovy with some great bands in Moab this Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29. This year Desert Rocks (DR) will be hosting an array of artists, from Hip Hop to Jam Grass. The line up includes:

Each year, during Memorial Day weekend, the Desert Rocks Music Festival is held at the majestic BFE Ranch, located 10 miles south of Moab. This stellar location for camping and music showcases the breathtaking natural beauty of Utah. The ranch backs up to the La Sal Mountains and boasts its own slot canyon.

"There have been some good times, some hard times, some crazy times, some wild road times, some times where people have passed....but it's good to just keep walking" proclaims guitarist/vocalist Vince Herman before the band launches into their original "Just Keep Walking" from their recently released concert DVD Leftover Salmon Live: Twice in a Blue Moon.

Hustling down the festive, wintery Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado, I stopped into “George’s Food and Drink” for a quick beer with a long- time Leftover Salmon fan.

Great American Taxi rolled thru Fort Collins CO on Wednesday, October 27th 2010.  After having a month off the road, Taxi is gearing up for a big holiday weekend playing the Fillmore with Leftover Salmon on Saturday 10/30.  If you’ve ever been to Hodi’s Half Note, when you stand outside you can look across the street and see signs for, “sense of place”, “designs”, and “mountain shop”.  That pretty much sums up a little music joint like Hodis.

Howdy Halloween freakers, Vince Herman here! The Salmon are swimming into the Fillmore again for a wild night of music, costumes, debauchery and late night parading down Colfax!
