Yarn
Roots rockers Yarn return with Born, Blessed, Grateful, & Alive, out today via 333 Entertainment/Symphonic Distribution, and a slew of new tour dates. Blending alt-country and Americana with thoughtful, sometimes wry lyrics, frontman/songwriter Blake Christiana grapples with aging, loss and change. American Blues Scene writes, "The words and music on 'Born, Blessed, Grateful & Alive' reflect the arc of human experience.

This week, we had the opportunity to sit down with Johnny Buck, the executive director and co-founder of Rooster Walk, to discuss the upcoming Rooster Walk 14. The festival began in 2009 as a tribute to late high school friends Edwin Penn ('the rooster') and Walker Shank. From its inception, the festival has focused on supporting a charity that grants college scholarships to deserving seniors at Martinsville High School and provides instruments and funding to enhance local school band programs.
Yarn has released a video for "Turn Off The News," their new single out this Friday, April 26 via all streaming services; check out the premiere today at Americana Highways. Like many of us, Yarn's Blake Christiana was addicted to scanning the latest headlines on his phone. The song exhorts the listener to “turn off the news, shake off the blues – life is short, it’s sweet if you make it.”

Yarn, headed by songwriter Blake Christiana, is back with a new album, Born, Blessed, Grateful, & Alive, out July 26 via Symphonic Distribution. It's been eight years since the NC-via NYC roots rockers have treated fans to a new studio album. Born, Blessed, Grateful & Alive finds Christiana getting his groove back, and the title reflects accepting — and being grateful — for what you do have. Guests include members of Railroad Earth, Infamous Stringdusters, and others.
