Arlo Guthrie

Today, Arlo Guthrie releases Alice's Restaurant 50th Anniversary Massacree, a 2-CD recording of the critically acclaimed and consistently sold-out tour commemorating the events that inspired the Thanksgiving classic anti-war anthem "Alice's Restaurant Massacree." This release features the entire two sets of the performance as seen on PBS, recorded live at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA, virtually a hometown show for Guthrie.

Rising Son International announces today the release of author and folksinger Arlo Guthrie's fifth children's book, Monsters. In his latest book for children, Guthrie recounts the tale of seemingly real monsters lurking in and around his bedroom. His descriptive verse is wonderfully captured by longtime friend and illustrator, Kathy Garren (her third collaboration with Guthrie).

PBS will premiere "Alice's Restaurant 50th Anniversary Concert with Arlo Guthrie" on Thanksgiving Day 2015 (Nov. 26, 2015) on TV stations across the country (8 pm - 9:30 pm EST, please check local listings).

Guthrie's incomparable ability of entangling uproariously comical tales into his songs is best represented here in a hazy cloud of absurdity on one CD. Three extraordinarily engaging tracks make up the sampler, clocking in at more than an hour of non-stop entertainment.

When Polytoxic and the Denver Horns come together every year to perform the Last Waltz Revisited, they remind us of the difference between going to a show and going to a SHOW.  Everything was in place- a food drive to support a local charity, a brilliant parade of local talent, non-stop entertainment, and an energy that danced through the ears of everyone nearby.
