“I Just Come Here For The Music” from country music legend Don Williams and featuring Alison Krauss was nominated for a GRAMMY last night in the Best Country Duo/Group Category. Awards will be given out at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10th, 2013.

The only time I ever saw Bill Staines live was several years ago in East Grand Forks, MN. I was eager for him to sing his (for me) signature song, “Roseville Fair.” It was a song my husband at the time had made into his own, creating a tender arrangement of this most romantic song of lasting love. I had never heard the original recording.

San Francisco Bay Area-based singer/songwriters Marty Atkinson and Katy Boyd have joined forces to form Blue Cactus Choir and will release their debut album, Once in a Bluegrass Moon, January 15 on Porgy Records.
On Saturday November 24th in Williamsburg, New York a good time was to be had by all. Virtually free to the public, Tauk, a NY-based jam band put together a relief benefit for the communities affected by Super Storm Sandy which took place at the, true to its location, hipster haven bar, Spike Hill. To enter donations were gladly accepted but not required, all of which went to those dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane.
It’s plainly obvious to see how hardworking Colorado acoustic quartet Head for the Hills has been this past year. They played their first main stage appearance at the 39th Telluride Bluegrass Festival, released their first official live album “Head for the Hills Live” and are hard at work assembling their third studio album.

Six-time Grammy winner Jack White has been nominated in three categories in the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards, including the evening's highest honor, the Album of the Year.In addition to Album of the Year, Blunderbuss is also nominated for Best Rock Album, while "Freedom at 21" has been nominated for Best Rock Song.The three new Grammy nominations, in addition to White's previous 15 nominations, bring his career total to 18. White has previously earned six Grammys for his work with the White Stripes and the Raconteurs.

Furthur has announced another Winter Tour on the front range of the Colorado Rockies, including their first gig the Ogden Theater in Denver and their 7th, 8th and 9th shows @ the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado (between Denver and Boulder).
This marks the 4th year in a row either Furthur or Phil and Friends (last Feb) will play the newly renovated venue.
