Jacob Jeffries Band’s album Tell Me Secrets has a lot of secrets to tell. For starters, they can definitely write some poetry. With their plethora of rhymes, Jacob Jeffries Band is a mix of Ryan Adams and their own personal blend of rock. A light piano rock album, Jacob Jeffries sings his heart out.The album consists of self-reflection, break ups, love, and a dash of indie to boot. With easily relatable lyrics, their second track is a great break up song.

Freelance Whales have announced the title and release date for their eagerly-awaited sophomore release. The album, Diluvia, will be released jointly by Mom+Pop Music and Frenchkiss Records on October 9th, 2012.

Forty-three years later, Alvin Lee hasn’t arrived at his destination yet, as the title of his new solo album, Still on the Road to Freedom, available August 27, 2012 on Rainman Records, will attest. “I don’t think I ever will,” he laughs.

Janis Martin was one of the few female recording artists working in the male-dominated rockabilly field in the 1950s. Nicknamed “the female Elvis” for her dance moves, the Sutherland, Va. native, born in 1940, recorded a number of singles for RCA Victor and Pallette from 1956 to ’61. Her first single, “Will You Willyum” b/w “Drugstore Rock ’n’ Roll,” sold more than 750,000 copies, landing her national TV appearances. In 1960, her husband demanded she leave music.

Shout out to the Vibe Tribe out there for Dylan Muhlberg. This year I have the distinct pleasure of covering the 17th annual Gathering of the Vibes festival, which is celebrating its eighth year in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Bridgeport is a diverse city on the Connecticut shoreline off of the Long Island Sound. The venue, Seaside Park, has hosted the Gathering all these years and by all counts is an incredible site.

The Suwannee Music Foundation in partnership with The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park today announce Suwannee Valley Flood Jam: A Benefit For Suwannee, Hamilton & Columbia Counties on August 17 & 18 at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.On June 24, 2012, Tropical Storm Debby settled over north Florida for 4 days, dumping more than 25 inches of rain in some areas of Suwannee, Hamilton and Columbia Counties.
