There's only one day left until the Dead Head event of the year! Don't miss the chance to join friends and fans at the second annual Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies, this Thursday, April 19th at 7:00PM (local time). The Dead will be creening the unreleased iconic concert captured at Alpine Valley Music Theatre on July 18, 1989 in its entirety - that's two and a half hours of classic Dead - as well as clips from the Dead Covers Project, a Dave's Picks Volume 2 slideshow and much, much more.Limited seats are available.

Suwannee Springfest, held March 22-25 at the beautiful Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, Live Oak, Florida was the rainiest, most violently stormy festival I have ever attended, but it was still a great time and the show went on.  It rained off and on and then just on until late afternoon Saturday. After lightening struck by our tent and the crescendo of its thunder rang in our ears, the sun did come out in all its glory.

Real Gone Music enters its first Spring with a potpourri of reissues that are definitely not garden variety, with releases ranging from hardcore punk to power pop to Motor City rock ’n’ roll, doo-wop and Summer of Love fixtures the Grateful Dead, all due in late May.

Last week we announced that 15 tracks from the December 3, 2011 Rex Benefit Run for the Roses are now available for download and CD purchase.  We hope you enjoy having this extension of the unique musical occasion that took place at The Fillmore

What can’t Bela Fleck do? Or maybe the question is what can’t Bela Fleck do with a banjo? Aside from his history with the Flecktones, bridging and bending the idea of genre and fusion music he produced his first film, “Throw Down Your Heart”, a journey into the true origins of the banjo in Africa. The film also drew awareness to culture and struggles abroad, something rarely achieved through a concert film.

The May release of Dave’s Picks, Volume 2 is just around the corner. The thousands of you who bought the full-year Dave’s Picks subscription have nothing to worry about. Your CDs (and the bonus disc that comes with this one for subscribers) will be winging their way to you shortly.

The second leg of Phish's 2012 summer tour will feature the band's first appearances at numerous venues beginning August 15 at Long Beach Arena in Southern California to stops at San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium (8/17, 18 & 19), the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, MO (8/22), St. Louis' Chaifetz Arena (8/28) and Phish's first-ever show in Oklahoma on August 29 at the Zoo Amphitheatre in Oklahoma City.

It’s so interesting to ponder how the Grateful Dead, despite being self-described poster children for avoiding politics and activism and concentrating on music, really aren’t that. From the beginning all members of the Dead were rooted in San Francisco’s scene and are an iconic representation of so many different facets of a humanitarian persuasion.

For being a top billed Australian hip-hop group Hilltop Hoods sure felt at home on their premiere show at The Fox and their first ever visit to Colorado. The scene was packed with an ensemble of listeners, a diverse group of music lovers, stretching from young punks to veterans straight out of the old skool.
