My first concert was Willie Nelson in January of 1984. I was only eight years old. My mum took me as her date since my dad was sick. We trekked across town to the Universal/Gibson Amphitheatre which was later demolished for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood. I remember it being cold and rainy. Regardless of the weather, Angeleno’s were decked out in their country finest. Dark denim, blinged out belts, rhinestone-embellished cowboy hats and Americana regalia filled the theatre.

ECHO is proud to announce the Jimi Hendrix 2021 Print Series. This officially licensed limited-edition series will showcase some of today’s biggest and brightest visual artists, creating works inspired by guitar icon Jimi Hendrix.

First in the series is a print by artist Dirty Donny commemorating Hendrix’s performance from March 1968 in Ottawa, Ontario. This print will be available starting Friday, January 29 starting at 2 PM EST / 11 AM PST.

Legendary jazz bassist Brian Bromberg delivers a shredder with Bromberg Plays Hendrix, a remixed and remastered tribute album in honor of one of the greatest entertainers of all time... Jimi Hendrix. Released digitally via Artistry Music/Mack Avenue Music Group with vibrant sound and an appropriately psychedelic palette that vastly improves the sonic experience. The reissue also includes a new bonus track, Bromberg’s original song “Jimi,” a sonic portrait of the hard-rocking wizard.

Jimi Hendrix's immortal 1970 live album, Band of Gypsys, is one of his most influential releases, with the charismatic guitar icon testing the bounds of his creative approach to produce some of the most ambitious music of his career. Capitol/UMe will honor this landmark record on March 27, almost exactly 50 years from its original release, with special 50th anniversary vinyl editions of Band of Gypsys that recapture the album’s boundary-breaking spirit.

The Cabot Theater in Beverly MA will be screening Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Church" on August 10th at 8pm.

This film is a documentary of Jimi Hendrix's final USA Festival Appearance of his "Cry of Love Tour" and takes place at The Atlanta International Pop Festival over the weekend of July 4th, 1970.

Amazingly the video of this concert performance sat forgotten and undeveloped for nearly 40 years in cameraman Steve Rash's barn.

In that backdrop, 500,000 young people gathered on a mid-August weekend in upstate New York for the promise of three days of peace and music. What they experienced at the Woodstock Music and Art Fair was something far greater.
