Coastie (Noun): An avid music festival fan who calls North Coast Music Festival home for three days a year.
Thousands of Coasties lovingly refer to North Coast Music Festival (NCMF) as “Summer’s Last Stand.” This year, the seventh annual festival returns to Union Park over Labor Day Weekend on Friday, September 2nd through Sunday, September 4th.
North Coast Music Festival (NCMF), held in Chicago’s Union Park over Labor Day weekend, provided the perfect soundtrack for taking “summer’s last stand.” The diverse, multi-stage showcase was a well-balanced mix of performances by established and emerging EDM, neo-soul, jam band, hip-hop, indie, and house music artists. The music lineup, art installations, food booths, and overall enthusiastic vibe captured the pulse of what moves the Windy City.
The Labor Day weekend countdown is on. Won’t you please come to Chicago? Show your face and make “summer’s last stand” at North Coast Music Fest in Union Park. Single day tickets are still available at www.northcoastfestival.com for the all-ages sonic buffet of indie, EDM, jam-band, hip-hop, and house music.
North Coast Music Festival (NCMF) is thrilled to announce more artists on the lineup for this year’s festival, which showcases the most diverse range of genres than ever before! New acts include French stalwart producer, WAX TAILOR who will be performing a LIVE set of his orchestral hip-hop beats, emerging New York beat maker extraordinaire SWEATER BEATS, and downtempo instrumental hip-hop producer LITTLE PEOPLE.
North Coast Music Festival (NCMF) is thrilled to announce WIDESPREAD PANIC as the surprise headliner for this year’s festival! The legendary Southern rock jam band has remained in Pollstar’s Top 50 Tours of the Year for the past decade, and continues to be one of the most relevant touring entities on the live music scene after almost 30 years. 2015 marks a special year for the band as they announced the release of their first studio album in five years.
It's the end of summer. Labor Day weekend – arguably one of the best times of the year to be a Chicago resident. The de facto end to summer is a time that Chicagoans tend to embrace, as a sort of reminder that we do have a bit of time before the tundra-like conditions of winder arrive mere months (or, gulp, weeks) from now. It makes perfect sense, then, to use this time to hold an eclectic music festival that hosts bands and artists ranging from funk to EDM and from rock to hip-hop.
The end of summer is near and what better way to say goodbye to lazy days and ridiculous tan lines than at the 5th Annual North Coast Music Festival. Bringing a melting pot of artists to the city of Chicago to play one last summer set, North Coast Music Festival is a splendid way to get your groove on while sweating your butt off in the late August sun. Artists this year include Snoop Dogg (I thought it was Snoop Lion…eh… po-tay-to, po-tot-to), Washed Out, Future Islands, STS9, Bassnectar, Talib Kweli, Little Dragon, Slightly Stoopid and Dr.
