Are drummers born that way or do they become that way? Does the urge to create rhythm and be an integral part of a band emanate from something within—or is it learned?

Sadly, Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, and seen here on May 4, 2019, as front man for Chevy Metal at the BeachLife Festival in Los Angeles, has died at the age of 50.

Newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Foo Fighters will be giving the people a lot more of what they want in 2022. The band has confirmed  18 more marathon evenings of life-affirming rock communion, to take place at amphitheaters, stadiums and festivals across North America during May, July and August of next year.

Tickets for the newly announced headline shows will be on sale to the public Friday, December 3rd at 10am local time.

Last night, Foo Fighters captured rock ’n’ roll lightning in a bottle with in their raucous final installment of Amazon Music’s Holiday Plays, the three-part holiday concert series hosted by Lil Nas X. Foo Fighters’ performance featured a career-spanning set of classics from the band’s 25-year career, and is currently available to be streamed for a limited time.

With the pandemic and quarantine lockdowns bringing most live music and touring to a screeching halt, Soundgarden/Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins used the downtime to explore new music and create a new project. The two multi-talented songwriter/drummers have unveiled their collaboration, Nighttime Boogie Association, by releasing two songs that they wrote, recorded, and produced: “Long In The Tooth” and “The Path We’re On.” The songs will be released as a deluxe single on Friday, December 11, 2020 through their own label Keep It Trippy Records.

Next week, on December 15 at 8pm ET, Foo Fighters will close out the final installment of Amazon Music’s Holiday Plays, a new, three-part holiday concert series hosted by Lil Nas X.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival announced its daily musical lineups running from April 23 through May 3 in New Orleans.

Dimebash – an all-star jam tribute to “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, the late co-founder and guitarist of Pantera and Damageplan – is set for Thursday, January 16 at The Observatory OC in Santa Ana, California.

Rock legend Dave Grohl and many more top rock and metal artists will be on hand to honor the guitar legend 15 years after his untimely passing. The all-star jam will feature Dime’s music and some of his favorite songs, with the Texas homegrown sounds of WhiskeyDick opening the show. The full lineup of musical guests will be announced in January.
