20-year-old East Texas songman Kolby Cooper has announced the release of his Vol. 2 EP, due out August 15th via Combustion Music.  The follow up to Cooper’s first full-length album, Good Ones Never Last, Vol. 2 features 5 originals that tackle themes of heartbreak, living in the moment, and Cooper’s honest takes on real life relationships. Cooper is the rare story of an outlier who achieved his own success without being plugged into any type of “music machine” in a city like LA or Nashville. Cooper, along with a small but mighty team has built a devoted and rabid fan base, selling out shows in Texas and beyond.  His first single “Every Single Kiss” which he wrote at age 15 and released independently in 2017 has over four million streams on Spotify.  Cooper’s followers will be pleased to note that the fan-favorite “Two Words” (Kolby Cooper/Jordan Walker) is being included on Vol. 2.

Growing up in the small town of Bradford, TX, Cooper’s first memories of being exposed to country music were listening to the classics while riding in cattle hauling trucks with his Dad.  Though Cooper is about to turn 21, he’s earned his nostalgia. Between thousands of fans shouting his songs back to him at sold-out shows around the country, cancer taking his dad when Cooper was 14, and then shouldering the responsibilities of becoming a husband and father himself at 18, his childhood understandably feels lifetimes ago.  Though his heart was in music, he still planned on following a more traditional career path after graduation – nursing school.  After some serious thought, and a heart to heart with a supportive mother, Cooper decided to take two years off and give music a try.  It’s safe to say that choosing the musical career path is working out.

Cooper’s sincerity, relatable personality, and honest songwriting is connecting with his audience in a big way, and he plans to release another full-length album in 2021.
