The first ever ARISE Music Festival is scheduled to take place this summer August 14 -18, 2013, in a picturesque mountain setting near Loveland, Colorado at Sunrise Ranch.  The festival features 5 stages with national and internationally renowned musical acts, as well as favorite regional and local talent, a mini film series, yoga and healing workshops as well as discussion forums with global leaders in environmental advocacy.  The ARISE weekend will be highlighted by performances of over 100 acts throughout 3 days and 3 nights of music plus 1 day of early camping and one decompression day. Performers recently added to the line up include: Twiddle, Octopus Nebula, The Magic Beans, Bonfire Dub feat. Bridget Law of Elephant Revival, The Grant Farm, Trichome, Ariana Saraha, West Water Outlaws, Technicolor Tone Factory and The Kirtaniyas. More headliner announcements are still on the horizon.

What separates ARISE from other camping festivals of its kind is a commitment to bringing environmental justice to Colorado and beyond. Festival organizers are focused on bringing equally defining talent to the daily workshop and speaker series as to the diverse musical schedule. ARISE Festival will feature world renowned activist Julia Butterfly Hill (who first brought international attention to the plight of the world’s last remaining ancient forests with her 738 day vigil in the branches of a 1000 year old Redwood tree), actress/activist Daryl Hannah (widely known as one of the world’s most influential sustainability advocates), and Leilani Münter who’s tagline, “Never underestimate a vegetarian hippie chick with a racecar”, who has garnered national media attention for uniquely being both a NASCAR racecar driver and eco-activist. Topics addressed will include discussions on GMO’s, fracking and interactive forums on health, community, spirituality, and related subjects. The ARISE Music Festival is the place to be for Colorado’s burgeoning cultural creative community, nature lovers and music enthusiasts alike.

Another unique element of ARISE Festival will be presenting a mini-film series in the Sunrise Ranch 400-seat Dome Theater which is situated in the center of the 100 acre festival grounds.  The mini-film series will include locally produced, award-winning short film “Chasing Water”, filmed and directed by native Coloradan Peter McBride (photographer, writer, filmmaker, pubic speaker, advocate of Wild Places and Flowing Rivers) who takes a soul searching, personal journey downstream to focus his cameras on the Colorado river and what becomes of the its most precious resource — water — as it supports 30 million people in the West.  Festival attendees can also unite during the film showing of “THE BLOOM: A JOURNEY THROUGH TRANSFORMATIONAL FESTIVALS”, a groundbreaking documentary based on the blossoming phenomenon of participatory realities which are having a profound, life-changing effect on hundreds of thousands of lives.
