Canada’s most endeared and revered fiddle power couple Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy have announced A Celtic Family Christmas At Home Tour. Partnering with Homeplay.live, the concerts will continue to be part of the MacMaster and Leahy’s annual tradition for their extended family across North America, while encouraging audiences to support their local theatres who are also struggling with the quarantine. Through Homeplay.live, the community theatres will be selling tickets for the concerts, which will be screened online to ticket-holders. This allows each purchaser to share the experience with their households in a safe way, while maintaining a high broadcast quality.  Shows will be left up to watch any time from posted “show day” till the end of the Christmas season, December 27th. Special Christmas merchandise offers will be available and announced soon.

At this time of year, the MacMaster-Leahy household is bustling with holiday energy as the family usually is rehearsing and preparing for their annual Celtic Christmas Special Holiday Tour. And this year is no exception, although the Covid19 Pandemic has thrown a candy-cane themed twist into the plan. On a normal year, the entire clan would be on the road, performing in theatres -- bringing the music of the season, fiery fiddle performances, Celtic dancing and a family centered feeling of celebration to communities across North America.

Supporting the music venues that have hosted these concerts is a priority for Natalie and Donnell, whose annual tours sell out in days and have been a huge part of Christmas celebrations in everything from large cities to tiny east-coast towns annually in Canada and the US for the past five years. Through a mix of both song and dance, they will take you on a journey of virtuoso performances, telling the story of the night before Christmas in the Leahy-MacMaster household.

"If you really love fiddle music, there are performances here that are nothing short of jaw dropping ... performances that will raise you up and performances that will leave you misty–eyed," wrote The Guardian.

With over half a million albums sold, Natalie and Donnell have amassed countless nominations and award wins — including but not limited to GRAMMY Award win and nomination, JUNO Award wins and eight nominations, 20 East Coast Music Association awards, and five Canadian Country Music Association’s “Fiddler of the Year” wins — as well as three honorary doctorates, an induction into the Casino Nova Scotia Hall of Fame, and a membership in the Order of Canada.

Every year, A Celtic Family Christmas exceeds all expectations with riveting performances by this fierce fiddling duo and their children, bringing the Cape Breton Christmas to you.
