Emerging Los Angeles based rock band The Shelters' video for their track “Gold” premieres on W Magazine, who says “The foursome crafted a visual collage of Californian inspirations that isn’t short on the luxury.” The song appears on their self-titled debut album—out now via Warner Bros.

“Primus sucks” is the battle cry for Primus fans everywhere, and to this day, I still love seeing it bring confusion to faces throughout the crowd, outside in lines, and even on blogs, posts, and articles. This is what we say when we are stoked to see a Primus show. This was a special setting for the band as well. The Fox Theatre is small, but it is packed with one of the best sound systems in the country. It only holds 625 amped up and ready to mosh Primus die-hards.

On May 25, 2017, I packed up my car, picked up my brother-in-law, and headed to Chillicothe, IL for the annual Summer Camp Music Festival. However, I was not going there primarily to see Moe. and Umphrey’s McGee, along with a host of others, but to work a booth as a nonprofit. Summer will start a little early this year with the Easy Star All-Stars kicking off their West Coast Tour 2017 at the legendary Monterey Fairgrounds, as the band’s first ever appearance at the California Roots Music and Arts Festival marks the first show on a 16-stop outing. The tour will run through late June as the band returns to reggae-friendly cities across the West Coast and Mountains. Supporting acts include The Late Ones and The Elovators.

In support of their recently released new album, Coming Down The Mountain, Mipso announce additional tour dates to their current Summer 2017 Tour. Philadelphia’s own Boris Garcia will release Around Some Corner on Porchwerk Music label for fans everywhere.  The band called on their secret weapon, Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth fame to take the role of producing the album. Carbone moves Boris Garcia’s songs of whimsy and emotion and molds them into complex compositions, making it look effortless.

Universal Sigh, Ever Upward Entertainment, and Live Wire Athens have announced the full lineup for the third Annual Sigh In July Music & Arts Festival! The festival takes place all day and night on July 21 & 22 at Live Wire in Athens, GA. Headliners Universal Sigh and Voodoo Visionary will be joined by more than a dozen acts including Athens based jazz wizards, Kenosha Kid, Groove Fetish and Jahman Brahman of North Carolina, and Cycles from Denver, Colorado.
