Jazz pianist/composer Nicholas Bridgman made the best of the coronavirus restrictions by connecting with a band on the online jamming site, Jamkazam. While unable to perform live locally, Bridgman met guitarist Craig Hall, bassist Dan Koloski, and drummer Jim O'Sullivan in various virtual jam sessions. Their playing appealed and they all showed interest in devoting over a year to recording tracks from their home studios around the U.S.

The Gasparilla Music Festival (GMF) presented by Coppertail Brewing Co. reveals several new additions to its 2022 festival lineup taking place February 25-27.  The Non-Profit festival has also released the performance dates details.

New acts joining the Black Pumas on Friday February 25 include Grouplove,  Cimafunk, Melt, seeyousoon, Hearty Har, and Parrotfish.  On Saturday February 26, new bands joining The Revivalists include Band of Horses, Margo Price, Bob Moses (club set), and Cha Wa.

Emerging independent sextet Dust City Opera, who entwine strands of grunge, gothic country, punk, folk, and rock as the soundtrack to stories steeped in cosmic horror, transformation, and transcendence, has released their new single “The Unkind” alongside the announcement that their sophomore full-length album, Alien Summer, will be released on Friday, March 4th.

The Head And The Heart have announced the Every Shade of Blue 2022 North American Tour which will kick off May 20th. The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell today announced the music lineup for the much-anticipated 2022 Festival, scheduled for April 29 – May 8.   Jazz Fest returns with an irresistible celebration of the unique culture and heritage of New Orleans and Louisiana, alongside unforgettable performances by nationally and internationally renowned guest artists to create one of the world’s most diverse musical festival lineups.  Festival weekend dates are set for April 29 – May 1 and May 5 – 8.

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician Molly Tuttle will release her anticipated Nonesuch Records debut, Crooked Tree, April 1 with her new bluegrass collective Golden Highway (pre-order here).
