Fruition, the dynamic five-piece American Roots band from Portland, Oregon, is gearing up for an exciting chapter. With their new album How to Make Mistakes on the horizon, an extensive American tour, and a special appearance at the Musical Sojourn in Buenos Aires—all kicking off in August—the band is poised for a busy and exhilarating stretch ahead. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mimi Naja, the band's co-founder, singer, and songwriter, to discuss the new record and the upcoming tour.

To mark the release of her brand-new solo EP “Nothing Has Changed”, Mimi Naja of Fruition will perform a live stream from Nashville’s Purple Building tonight at 9pm ET. While the EP was recorded at Fruition drummer Tyler Thompson’s studio, for tonight’s EP release show Naja will be joined by Anthony da Costa, PJ George, and Alex Bice.
The second track from Mimi Naja’s upcoming solo EP lands at all digital retailers today accompanied by an animated video from the muti-talented Deren Ney (Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers).
“Coin In My Pocket” is an upbeat song about renewal, alluding to the token chip of the Alcoholics Anonymous program being a tangible symbol of progress and life’s new season.

After spending the last decade in the Pacific Northwest, Mimi Naja has made her way from Portland, OR to her new Nashville home. Raised in the outskirts of Atlanta, the urban south beckoned her spirit when touring paused. As a founding member of roots-rock sweethearts Fruition, Mimi began her professional music career as one of three friends busking on the streets of Portland in 2008. As buzz grew around Fruition’s alluring three-part harmonies and community-bonding dance floor, they took their show to stages around the country.
On Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday November 25, A Harvest Celebration with Vince Herman & Friends will air on Instrumenthead Live at 8pm EST and again at 8pm PST. Vince says, “Come and join us, have a little music with Mimi Naja, Kyle Tuttle, the Davisson Brothers, and Kylie Frey. We are gonna have a harvest celebration Thanksgiving style 2020 with pickin’ and singin’ and dancin’ and movin,’... It's gonna be fun!”
Acclaimed music photographer Michael Weintrob has announced the launch of his new streaming music & art series, Instrumenthead Live. The series comes in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to provide safe, premium concerts to music lovers everywhere.
