With their recent announcement of ALL THE GOOD TIMES: The Farewell Tour, GRAMMY® Award winners Nitty Gritty Dirt Band made it clear that their time spent on long bus rides and multi-city tours is finally winding down, but they also let fans know that this career-spanning celebration isn’t ending anytime soon. Today, the band is proud to announce additional tour dates, Nov. 7 & 8, at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium.

On the memorable evening of March 23, music lovers gathered at Renfro Valley, Kentucky, and were treated to an enchanting showcase featuring the renowned Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, with a captivating opening act by Britt Taylor. Taylor's performance served as the perfect prelude to the main event, drawing in the audience with her soulful vocals and engaging stage presence.

Today, December 19th, 2023, marks the birthday of John McEuen, a pivotal figure in the world of bluegrass music and a cornerstone of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. As we at Grateful Web celebrate this special day, we reflect on McEuen's incredible legacy and the indelible mark he has left on the music industry.

Many veteran bands trade on nostalgia, on replication of past glories, and on recycled emotions from younger, more carefree days.

Each year, Sixthman allows artists to propose their dream collaboration sets to take place on the ship. Last week, on board Cayamo: A Journey Through Song, the Stardust Theater came alive with the sounds of Dirt Does Dylan, a Bob Dylan tribute set hosted by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, that featured David Bromberg, Jeff Tweedy, Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams, Amy Helm, and other special guests.

Last time I photographed the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was in 1985 when Arlo Guthrie joined them on stage in Bangor Maine. Fast forward 37 years and the band, still lead by Jeff Hanna, sound as great as ever.

On Saturday, September 17th, Grammy Award-winners and Americana mainstays Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will make their grand return to Nashville’s beloved Ryman Auditorium for a special, one-night-only performance.
