August 2017
The little festival that could, Rhythms on the Rio 2017, did it once again, bringing a stellar lineup and unmatched Colorado hospitality to a welcoming festival audience. This year’s fest started out overcast and chilly (we are in monsoon season, after all), with the promise of rain. But none of that dampened anyone’s spirits.
Fueled by a global span of influences and inspiration, Out Of Nations is a band that looks to break down the preconceived limitations of music and geography. The six-piece band provides an eclectic mix of electronica, funk, pop, jazz, rock, and spins elements of traditional music from Latin and Arab countries. The band is based out of the artistically-surging Berlin, Germany. With no two members sharing a nationality, Out of Nations look to combine a wide range of creative influences with a forward-thinking touch.

What’s in a name? Sometimes nothing, and sometimes everything. In the case of The Freeway Revival, the latter certainly seems to ring true. Theirs is music that was born from the energy and the spirit that comes from a life spent on the road, and the packed tour schedule they have maintained since their inception has strengthened their sound- a healthy mix of guitar driven soul and rock n roll with a flare of psychedelic, complimented by four part vocal harmonies.
