Moonlight Basin is pleased to announce the inaugural Moonlight MUSICFEST taking place August 17-18, 2018, at Moonlight’s Madison Village at the base of Big Sky Resort.

Following their successful inaugural tour across Australia and New Zealand in 2017, the pedigree of hallowed '60s trio Cream--Ginger Baker's son KOFI BAKER, Jack Bruce's son MALCOLM BRUCE and Eric Clapton's nephew* WILL JOHNS--have come together for the first time in North America to pay homage to the band's extraordinary legacy with THE MUSIC OF CREAM - 50TH ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR. The eight-week outing--kicking off September 28 in Ottawa and spanning 34 cities throughout North America this fall--will mark 50 years since the original lineup's farewell U.S. tour of 1968.

Before the Dead is by no means an ordinary musical release. This collection of early, and quite-remarkable-they-exist-at-all recordings is a phenomenal delight for many reasons, ones so obvious to any Deadhead I will pay you the respect of not listing them. And yes, the many reasons for which we have all been eagerly awaiting this release are exciting enough within themselves, yet it is the overall palpable essence and holistic sensation that arose in the listening that snuck up on me, as if falling down a rabbit hole, where the history of Jerry and the Grateful Dead becomes the story of how each of us, and all of us, have become who we are. Jerry will never be more accessible than he is here—he is Jerry before he is JERRY; he is a friend sitting in our living room playing music; we are down at the coffeehouse together, meeting up with other friends, slurping joe and jammin’ on the scene.

Prodigious progressive jazz guitarist Julian Lage at age thirty has been playing professionally for the majority of his life. In recent years, collaborations with other innovative virtuosic players such as Nels Cline, Chris Thile, and Chris Eldrige, have broadened his adoring listener base. Julian was gracious enough to catch up with Grateful Web’s Dylan Muhlberg in the midst of an already bustling year of gigs with dozens more across the globe to come.
