Cliff Westfall writes songs about heartache, loss, addiction… you know, funny songs. Or he can turn on a dime and dive headlong into a sentimental weeper. The Kentucky native delivers with a mixture of wit and bravado that, for Westfall, is central to what country music is all about.

Nick Lowe has made his mark as a producer (Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, Pretenders, The Damned), songwriter of at least three songs you know by heart, short-lived career as a pop star, and a lengthy term as a musicians' musician.

Hungry March Band has been performing for over twenty years and is a potpourri of genuine musical talent. The downtown NYC institution has gained a cult following and garner critical accolades, including Time Out NYC which described them as, “NYC’s finest guerrilla ambulatory music ensemble.” The band wields many styles, referencing dub, rock, ska, metal, and various Latin traditions; all the while maintaining a punk heart and creating their own flamboyant sound.

Moogfest, the annual celebration of the legacy of inventor and synthesizer pioneer Bob Moog, lit up downtown Durham this weekend in the festival’s third year with a fresh look, renewed energy, and major contribution to the city’s economy.
