The Fox Theatre - Boulder
Drawing on the energy of a rock band and the Laurel Canyon songwriting of the ‘70s, The Lil Smokies are reimagining their approach to roots music on Tornillo, named for the remote Texas town where the album was recorded. Produced by Bill Reynolds (The Avett Brothers, Band of Horses), Tornillo is the band’s third studio album. Formed in Missoula, Montana, The Lil Smokies have built a national following through constant touring, performing at Red Rocks, LOCKN’, High Sierra, Telluride, Bourbon & Beyond and more.
Asheville-based group Town Mountain will perform in Denver at The Bluebird Theater on September 1 and in Boulder at the Fox Theatre on September 2. Since their inception over a decade ago, Town Mountain has built a reputation for their rowdy, energetic performances, a testament to each member's refined musicianship.
Raw, soulful, and with plenty of swagger, Town Mountain has earned raves for their hard-driving sound, their in-house songwriting and the honky-tonk edge that permeates their exhilarating live performances, whether in a packed club or at a sold-out festival. The hearty base of Town Mountain's music is the first and second generation of bluegrass spiced with country, old school rock ‘n’ roll, and boogie-woogie.
As we all know, tours and venues are opening across the country and with this, shows are being scheduled wherever there is an open night and music lovers everywhere are digging every minute of it. Recently Colorado has been blessed with a number of surprisingly great week mid-week shows, including Bob Weir last week, and this week the trend continues.

After years of playing together, they officially created Lawrence, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musician friends from childhood and college.
