Blind Melon wrapped up six rare concert dates May 8th at Concord Music Hall, Chicago for a fanatical house of fans. This was a rare treat, and the audience knew it.

The NYC Independent Film Festival (NYC Indie FF) returned for its 8th year last week, revisiting Manhattan once again to showcase independent artists’ work in the film industry. Featured work included full-length films, shorts, animated pictures, and web series.

Americana songwriter CoCo O’Connor is poised to release her new album, This Ol’ War, on June 8, 2018, and she’s embarked on a PledgeMusic campaign with a special message. CoCo’s PledgeMusic has two goals: 1) to help bring in funds to cover the CD and Vinyl replications costs of the new album, and 2) to contribute financial help and visibility to the work of the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary.

Almost every day, Bill Frisell gets up in the morning, has some coffee, and writes music. At this point, there are piles and piles and piles of single pages of staff paper filled with his graceful script. “I don’t know where the melodies come from,” says Frisell. “I try not to judge anything and just let them be.”

Tyler Childers is nominated for “Emerging Artist of the Year” at the 2018 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards. The annual awards show will take place on September 12 at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.
