June 2018

Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment in association with the Illinois Blues Coalition is proud to announce the initial lineup for the 30th Annual Peoria Blues & Heritage Music Festival this Labor Day Weekend! The 2018 lineup will feature PBHFest veterans Buddy Guy, Robert Cray Band, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, as well as welcoming first time performers Ben Folds and Billy Strings. Many more artists will be announced soon!

Dropping a first phase lineup that set the festival world abuzz, the 5th Anniversary edition of Imagine Music Festival has released the full roster of performers for its 2018 event, which returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway in Atlanta, Georgia on September 21st through 23rd. Once viewed as a burgeoning new festival filling a void in the Southeast, Imagine Music Festival has positioned itself as one of the nation’s most anticipated electronic dance music events, as well as one of the last remaining of the independent festivals.

Heralded Austin-based blues/roots musician and songwriter Johnny Nicholas returns to Michigan to celebrate the deluxe vinyl LP reissue of his long out-of-print 1977 album, Too Many Bad Habits – including a special bonus album of previously unreleased performances – on July 1, 2018, at The Ark in Ann Arbor. Performing with Nicholas will be bassist Tony Garnier and drummer Tino Gross, both featured on the original album, and Scrappy Jud Newcomb on guitar/mandolin.

Zak Trojano carries a warm baritone supported by an old Martin guitar and low tuned Weissenborn lap steel. His third album, Wolf Trees is a move towards high definition from a songwriter whose pictorial lyrics are lauded for their cinematic imagery.

FIVE ALARM FUNK is experiencing a landmark year in their 15+ year career. Following a nod at the 2018 JUNO Awards for their full-length album Sweat, the Vancouver-based eclectic eight-piece is celebrating the release of their latest single, "We Play The Funk," featuring legendary funk icon Bootsy Collins with the debut of the official music video.

Vibrant reggae, hip-hop and soul fusion band Collective Thought will be performing live in Austin, TX this Saturday at the Whip In! From all different walks of life, the six members of Collective Thought combine their musical styles and riddims to create a unique and unforgettable live concert experience! The band is touring in support of their upcoming debut studio album release, Rise.
