The Expanders – the Los Angeles-based roots reggae powerhouse band – began this project earlier this past summer, before Toots Hibbert became sick with coronavirus (which eventually took his life in September). They had been asked to record cover versions of two of their favorite Toots & The Maytals classics for an impending month-long celebration of Hibbert’s life and career that was happening on Rootfire.net in September.

Roots and Tings are excited to announce their timely double single release “Election Time” and the Headnodic Remix “Election Time” Ft. Rico Pabon! The new singles are a rally cry to the masses to exercise their voices and right to vote. Listen here: http://smarturl.it/electiontime.

After dropping his Easy Star Records debut album Sharp & Ready to critical acclaim, Double Tiger (Jay Spaker) is back with The Journey, which is his most diverse and personal collection to date. The album is due on December 11th and features an all-star lineup of artists including Slightly Stoopid, The Movement, Ranking Joe, Elliot Martin (John Brown’s Body), Suckarie (New Kingston), and Karim Israel (Arise Roots).

Following the widely acclaimed release of Tea for the Tillerman², December 2020 will see Yusuf / Cat Stevens celebrate the two albums that first established him as his generation’s premier acoustic troubadour and then fired him into international superstardom. Released only seven months apart in 1970, Mona Bone Jakon and Tea for the Tillerman will be celebrated as 50th anniversary Super Deluxe Collector’s Edition box sets.
