Spirits were flying high at the Miami Beach Bandshell this past weekend for the third year of the beloved North Beach Music Festival. With some of the funkiest names in live and jam music gracing the stage to their adoring fans, this winter gathering has quickly solidified its place as one of the year's can't-miss fests. A perfect blend of intimate and tropical, we already can't wait to see what they have in store for us next year.

Orange Blossom Revue marked the conclusion of its 9th annual festival with a record turnout this weekend. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Wailes Park in central Florida, the two-day musical extravaganza continues to rank among the year's most eagerly awaited events, attracting thousands of enthusiastic attendees to the charming town each year.

Since then, record stores have started the holiday shopping season with an RSD Black Friday twist: a curated list of releases created especially for them, adding to the mix of items already found in record stores, all of which make exceptionally good gifts.

The jam-heavy, improvisational quartet Spafford played a phenomenal show last week at Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC.  Spafford took the stage and launched the first set with original song "Double Time" which is full of rock heavy riffs and strong vocals from guitarist Brian Moss.  After a smooth rendition of Steve Kimock's song "Ice Cream," Spafford really took it to another level with the three-song combo "Pursuit of Trance*">"America">"The Waltz."
