With the release of their third album, One More Lifetime, there is no doubt that Jorma Kaukonen and John Hurlbut are hitting their stride. And to be honest, the proper review of this album is, “Kick back in the sweet spot of sound, close your eyes, and take the ride. This album speaks for itself.” Hell, it’s Jorma on an acoustic, need I say more? Yes! Because one cannot take this journey without thoughts arising, memories being had, and emotions felt. The unmistakable sound of experience is all pervasive.

Acclaimed keyboardist, composer and bandleader Lao Tizer today shares “Down” the first song and video released from The Lao Tizer Band’s upcoming album Amplify. The album which sees Tizer continuing to knock down boundaries and expand musical horizons is due out August 23. In addition to the album announce and song release, Tizer also announces tour dates to support Amplify (see below)

The inaugural Music Is In Our Blood Street Party is a free, public live music festival and blood donation drive hosted by the music nonprofit, Sonic Guild Colorado, in collaboration with the City and County of Denver, Denver Arts and Venues, the Downtown Denver Partnership and Vitalant. This free half-day music festival, blood donor drive and street party will be hosted in Downtown Denver on Sunday, June 30 from 3-8pm.

Celebrated blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joanne Shaw Taylor announces the release of her new studio album, Heavy Soul, available NOW through Journeyman Records. Recorded at the historic RCA studios just before its closure, Taylor shares, “I love the history - it seemed like the natural place to come back to. It’s been a wonderful album to make.”
