Today, The Louis Armstrong House Museum and Center announces the 2024 cohorts of their prestigious Armstrong Now Artist-in-Residence program. Following last year's residencies and inspired works from esperanza spalding, Amyra León and Antonio Brown, this season, three new exceptional artists have been selected to work with the institution.

Originally released in 1998, The Best of Friends marks a significant milestone in the illustrious career of blues legend John Lee Hooker. This seminal album highlights Hooker's late-career collaborations with an array of esteemed musicians including Eric Clapton, Ry Cooder, Carlos Santana, Van Morrison, and Bonnie Raitt. Twenty-five years later, the album remains a vivid testament to Hooker's enduring vitality and the deep respect he commanded from the musical community.

The Roamers bring a wealth of experience from their individual musical careers to this exciting new venture. Led by Matt Rice, a seasoned bass player and singer who has been a dedicated performer in the Los Angeles area for many years, the band offers a unique approach to making music. "We're a new band and we love playing together, but we’re more like a collective than a group," Rice explains.
