After finishing up a phenomenal spring tour last weekend with a 3 night run in Mobile, Alabama, and still flying high from a Grammy award for Best Bluegrass Album, Billy Strings announced 2 more socially distanced pod-style shows to take place in just over a month on May 21-22 at Waterfront Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
With the momentum that they are ending their spring tour with, it was no surprise when both shows sold out the day they went on sale. Luckily for their adoring fans, Billy and his band take the phrase never miss a Sunday show seriously, and they added a third show for Sunday, May 23, which quickly sold out as well.
This announcement was surely well received by the guitarist’s fans in the bluegrass state, since his band has not played in Kentucky since February 2020, a time that feels so disconnected from today’s world.
These two shows are also exciting because they mean fans will get to see the quartet take the stage a week earlier than they thought. After the Live on the Lawn shows in Louisville, Billy Strings will be preforming at The Farm at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee.
Be on the lookout for more exciting announcements coming from Billy Strings and his band in the upcoming weeks. They were some of the busiest musicians in the scene during the past year in terms of releasing content via live streams, so one can only speculate that as we start seeing more in-person concert announcements, we will be seeing more from them.
