Global Mexican music icon Carín León and one of the world's most recognized flamenco voices, Diego ‘El Cigala,’ join forces with production team Chanela Clicka to present “Te Quiero y Me Miento,” a sonic and emotional journey that connects Madrid and Hermosillo in an unprecedented way.

Pioneers in blending traditional rhythms with contemporary sounds, Carín and El Cigala deliver a surprising new fusion that combines the distinctive beats of Contemporary Mexican Music with flamenco's emotive vocal style and the spontaneity of bulerías, creating a groundbreaking sound never before explored in contemporary music.

“Te Quiero y Me Miento” was composed by the artist/producer team Chanela Clicka, consisting of Alejandro ‘Jimbo’ Páez Lou and Eduardo Figueroa Espadas, alongside Juan Diego Lazo Gonzales, Jairo Salazar Montoya, Manuel Jesús Urbina Flor, and Oscar Armando Díaz de León. For the production, Carín and El Cigala entrusted this artistic duo, who collaborated with Jaime Calabuch and Antonio de Jesús Zepeda, to achieve this unique fusion.

Only Carín and El Cigala could capture the emotional vocal textures distinctive to their genres in this innovative project. Their voices shine brilliantly, showcasing vocal ranges that only they could master.

Musically, “Te Quiero y Me Miento” represents a masterful union of Spanish and Mexican instrumentation. Classical flamenco guitars blend perfectly with the Mexican requinto, while Andalusian’s genre signature fretless bass harmonizes seamlessly with the Mexican tololoche. Flamenco handclaps and cajón percussion complete the rhythmic foundation of this heartfelt creation.

For this collaboration, Manuel Urbina, Niña Pastori’s guitarist and one of flamenco’s most acclaimed musicians, joined Carín León's band in the recording, contributing his unmistakable guitar sound and musical arrangement to the piece.
“Te Quiero y Me Miento” showcases Carín León’s innate ability to adapt Contemporary Mexican Music rhythms to a spectrum of global genres: from country, rock, and blues to salsa—there’s no musical style that the Hermosillo, Sonora native doesn’t masterfully command.

This isn’t the first time Carín has connected his voice with Spain. The GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®-winning artist has previously collaborated with Manuel Carrasco, Omar Montes, Pablo Alborán, Hombres G, and Rosario.

ABOUT CHANELA CLICKA
Chanela Clicka is an artistic project formed by two producers and composers whose value lies in genre fusion. The project began in 2022, with the composition and production of Omar Montes' “Quejíos de un Maleante,” nominated for Best Flamenco Album at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards. In this album, they started blending urban music with flamenco. They gradually expanded to include other genres in songs like “Ron con Coca” by Carin León & Omar Montes, which combines Mexican regional music, flamenco, and urban music. After “Ron con Coca,” they began to explore this fusion of Mexican regional music, flamenco, and urban styles. They began composing an album that blended these three styles, with “Te Quiero y Me Miento” as the starting point. This process has taken them across Mexico and Andalusia to immerse themselves in the music and people. It has inspired many others to join this journey, exploring the blend of traditional music from these two countries: Spain and Mexico.
