For the first time, Cirque du Soleil is dedicating a show to country music and its rich storytelling. The unique production, which kicked off in Nashville, Tennessee earlier this month features a curated catalog of songs released today as an album entitled, Songblazers via BMG in collaboration with Universal Music Group Nashville.

Recorded at Sound Emporium Studios and helmed by Nashville native and acclaimed 2x GRAMMY-winning artist, songwriter and producer Daniel Tashian (Burt Bacharach, Kacey Musgraves), Songblazers couldn’t have been made anywhere but the Music City. The album features the cast of the show along with a host of country music’s finest players. From early 20th Century country spirituals to “Achy Breaky Heart”, by way of “New Muleskinner Blues” and “Copperhead Road,” Songblazers is a true journey into country music.
