Colorado-based Americana and blues artist David Starr, known for his evocative storytelling and over a decade of international performances, releases his poignant new single "Waiting In The Dark" today. Available on all digital platforms, this track leads the upcoming acoustic album, Starr & Stucky, and marks the beginning of his extensive UK tour alongside mandolinist Erik Stucky. The tour, featuring stops in Coatbridge, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Edinburgh, and more, promises to showcase the duo’s dynamic synergy with special performances scheduled alongside James Kirby.
"Waiting In The Dark," beautifully recorded in one take at Nashville’s Addiction Sound Studios, features Starr’s soulful vocals and acoustic guitar complemented by Stucky’s meticulous mandolin work. This acoustic rendition revives a piece from Starr’s 2017 EP The Head and Heart, inspired by his reflective years in Aspen during the 1980s. "The song recalls a time and a friend who found it hard to escape the party lifestyle," explains Starr. "It’s a narrative that I felt compelled to revisit and share anew."
Starr’s excitement about the tour and new release is palpable: "I am so excited to kick off this UK tour with the release of 'Waiting In The Dark.' I love playing for the audiences over there, and this song is especially fun to have in the set, and a natural choice for the next single. Erik and I have really locked in on our live show, and it was long overdue to take it to the studio. Starr & Stucky is a way to give the show to folks and have them listen whenever they like," says Starr.

An Arkansas native, Starr has released over ten albums, sharing stages with legends like John Oates and opening for acts such as America and Survivor. His profound contributions to music and community extend beyond the stage through his establishment of Starr’s Guitars in Colorado and his role as a founding board member of the Grand Mesa Arts & Events Center.
