Based on their unique approach of recreating, literally note for note, all instruments as well as the lush and complex vocal harmonies as heard on classic recordings of the 70’s, Dead On Live has quickly become recognized as one of the top acts to pay tribute to the music of the American treasure known as the Grateful Dead.
These five Northern California shows in early June Dead On Live shows will feature note for note recreations of the band performing “Workingman’s Dead” and “American Beauty” in their entirety. Dead On Live also remain true to The Dead's heart and soul by featuring plenty of jamming in every show as well as the replication of these two specific records of from the band’s vital early era.
Touring and recording veteran multi-instrumentalist Marc Muller (Shania Twain, Bruce Springsteen, Tommy Shaw) directs this note For note celebration capturing this important and beloved period in the Grateful Dead’s long and illustrious, and stylistically diverse career. He has assembled an impressive cast of world class musicians that have been able to reproduce virtually every note of every instrument, as well as all of the beautifully orchestrated vocal arrangements that are a trademark of these two American classics. The weeklong tour wraps up with the ‘Blue Rose Ball’ honoring the spirit and life of Joe Capone. In celebrate Joe’s passion for life and music, incredibly well-lived and chock full of love and giving back, amazing musical talent has been assembled for the first annual Blue Rose Ball. Performers such as Mark Karan (RatDog), Jason Crosby, Steve Forbert, Josh Joplin and many others with Marc Muller & Dead On Live anchoring, the event aims to do some real good for the community by raising needed funds aimed at giving more children a chance to get a jump-start on a great education by introducing the Joseph Capone Scholarship Fund at the Old Adobe School in Sonoma, California. The Old Adobe School is a Sonoma preschool focused on quality early childhood education with emphasis on diverse cultures and the arts.
The legendary artist Stanley Mouse, will be producing one more blue rose concert poster in honor of the evening. Stanley produced many of the iconic images that symbolized an era and he has lent us his classic blue rose image that once graced the poster for the last show at Winterland on December 31, 1978.
