DISPATCH will be performing at Thompson’s Point on Saturday, July 20 with special guest Moon Taxi. The Portland date is one of only a handful of summer stops for the band in 2019. The upbeat rock band that’s heralded as one of the biggest independent bands in history, is in the middle of one of their most prolific periods to date. Dispatch released a live record called “Live 18” on May 17th which features 21 live recordings - almost all from last summer, including featured performances from tour mates Nahko And Medicine For The People, Raye Zaragoza and Tim Snider. Songs range from old classics like Bang Bang, Outloud and The General to new favorites Letter to Lady J, and Only the Wild Ones plus many more. There is also a “bonus” track of the song “Here We Go” recorded during their 2017 acoustic tour and features Rashawn Ross from Dave Matthews Band.
Before their Thompson’s Point show, in lieu of traditional meet and greets, DISPATCH is bringing together band members, local leaders, and fans for an afternoon of service and advocacy to invest in Portland and the issues the group has lifted up over the years. Volunteers will cycle through a series of 25-minute stations to help support the work of our community partners.
