San Francisco-area songstress and Blue Rose Music artist Elliott Peck released her video for “Out Sailing” – the title track from her latest album release, Further From The Storm – exclusively with Wide Open Country yesterday (11/5). The premiere comes on the heels of Peck’s European tour, which wrapped on October 28 and included a residency in Spain, as well as stops in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

“The video for ‘Out Sailing’ was shot and produced by Austin Hein & Tyce Hoskins of Austin Hein Productions. They did a stellar job of creating a visual picture to compliment the mood and story of the song,” Peck told Wide Open Country. “The water and nature images are critical elements in the lyrics and are beautifully incorporated. Because I wrote this song to be played on piano, the baby grand added an authentic and sophisticated touch. This was my first time making a solo music video, and I truly enjoyed the process of making a visual creation to match my story.”
Her debut solo album, the release of Further From The Storm marks a transformation in Peck’s artistry. “This album was the first time I’d taken such raw material and developed with new musicians on the fly. It was definitely challenging and it really pushed me as an artist, but it turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had in the studio.”
A native of Michigan, Peck first fell in love with live music during family trips to Chicago. “I saw Koko Taylor and Ray Charles and just fell in love with the Chicago blues at a young age. It was the first music I started singing and it made me want to explore my voice.” After a brief residence in the Windy City, Peck moved to San Francisco, where she began singing and writing alongside Grahame Lesh in Midnight North. The band would go on to release three studio albums in addition to touring nationally and serving as the house band at the famed Terrapin Crossroads. Relix praised the outfit’s soulful, harmonized vocals,” while The Washington Post hailed their “exuberant, twangy” sound, and Pop Matters raved that “Peck shines” in the band, “delivering a bluesy country rock vocal.”
She’ll hit the road with Phil Lesh and Midnight North beginning Friday, November 9 with a show at Belly Up in Solana Beach, Ca.
