Eric Lambert & Friends Finish the Year in Asheville, NC
Fresh off their Colorado Front Range Tour, Eric Lambert & Friends will make a short stop at home in Chicago before packing up again and heading east to Asheville, NC to play their final shows of 2012. ELF debuts at the Emerald Lounge on Friday, December 28 with support from Dana & Susan Robinson, and Dark Water Rising.
Eric Lambert & Friends will feature the same ensemble from the recent western tour; Eric Lambert on guitar and lead vocals, Dan Rogers on bass, Pat Fiddle on fiddle and vocals, and Lukas Simpson on mandolin and vocals. Following weeks of traveling and performing together, the group is tightening their bonds and stepping up their game.
“We will pull into Asheville with a tight, rockin’ music ensemble that is listening to each other and creating beautiful music together,” Eric said. “The group has grown in great leaps on the current tour. We’re developing our groove and learning about who we are as an ensemble,” he continued. “We’re also learning more about who we are as people and how to better care for each other on the road.”
Dan Rogers is the veteran “Friend” of the group and has been laying down steady beats all year with Eric. From Chicago, IL, Dan earned an undergraduate degree in English and History from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a graduate degree in Library and Information Science from Dominican University. This will be his first time performing music in Asheville, NC. “The beauty of the city and vibrancy of the music scene certainly intrigues me,” he shared.
“I am really looking forward to Eric Lambert & Friends becoming a part of this scene and contributing to the already-flourishing music culture of the city,” Dan said. “We are taking unique approaches to traditional music, and incorporating different sounds to create a new experience for listeners. Hopefully one they can feel they are a part of, and find interesting and fulfilling,” he concluded.
The Emerald Lounge is said to be one of the Southeast’s premier intimate live music venues, located on the hip and eclectic Lexington Avenue in downtown Asheville. The room provides audiences with a large music hall experience in a small, local atmosphere, making it a great location for this show.
“We are extremely excited to share our music with the music lovers of Asheville, NC,” Eric concluded.
