Grace Bowers drops video for "Madame President," appeared on Kelly Clarkson this week performing "Holding On To Something"

Today, Grace Bowers, 18 year old, meteorically fast rising guitarist, songwriter and bandleader dropped a music video (directed by Athena Kulb) for Madame President, the timely song from her breakout album Wine On Venus. Premiered with FLOOD Magazine, who stated, “The eternal chorus of ‘vote!’ has been chiming for months now, rockers Grace Bowers & the Hodge Podge are echoing that sentiment with a new video for the track ‘Madame President’…The song foregoes preachiness in favor of an honest look at small-town life.” The video celebrates her unity at this time of division and keeping our hope for a better future.

Bowers stated, “‘Madame President’ is a song that discusses many issues of our times I’d like to see changed. I thought it was important to show everyday people in our community and how they come together.”

This week, Bowers appeared on Kelly Clarkson, performing the track, “Holdin On To Something” with Clarkson proclaimed Bowers as “an unstoppable force in rock and soul.”

Bowers epic year continues with recent landmark moments which following winning “Instrumentalist of the Year” at The Americana Honor & Awards has continued her upward swing with additional TV appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and appearing at the WhyHunger 2nd annual Amplified concert Presented by EY on October 15 at NY’s Irving Plaza, alongside the Roots. The landmark moments continue for this singular young artist. Bowers’ isn't slowing down any time soon. Her fall tour is currently underway including shows in Japan. Grace will also appear at a GRAMMY Museum event in LA on Nov 13, and The Allman Betts Family Revival and Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir at his Dead Ahead Fest in Mexico. She also recently announced and SOLD OUT headline shows at Mercury Lounge in New York on December 8 and the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood on January 30, 2025, and will be part of the Innings Festival lineup on February 22, 2025 in Tempe, AZ. Last week Bowers also attended the American Music Mentorship Program Closing Ceremonies & The 2024 Peace Through Music Award Presentation in Los Angeles, CA. The event was  part of the U.S. Department of State’s Global Music Diplomacy initiative in partnership with the Recording Academy to bring international music industry professionals to the United States for mentorship and networking opportunities, with the aim of cultivating a global music industry ecosystem and promoting peace and democracy. The event featured a presentation of the second PEACE Through Music Award by Under Secretary Satterfield and Harvey Mason jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, followed by a reception attended by Grace alongside Recording Academy members including Jimmy Jam. Bowers was named a U.S. Global Music Ambassador this year, an American music artist, songwriter, and/or producer who exudes excellence in their field and has demonstrated a commitment to public service. In this role, these American artists are engaging audiences – both overseas and here at home – by elevating music to promote peace and democracy, creating cross cultural connections, and supporting broader U.S. foreign policy goals that expand access to education, economic opportunity and equity, and inclusion.

Bowers’ debut album, Wine On Venus (stream/purchase here) was the catalyst for this epic rise. Produced by John Osborne (Brothers Osborne), Wine On Venus continues to receive widespread acclaim, from Rolling Stone calling Bowers “Nashville’s new guitar hero,” to Forbes praising the album as, “an infectious, joyous party and a worthy introduction to Bowers” and The Tennessean calls her “a guitar prodigy,” with a, “heart as big as her talent is vast.”

Bowers cut her teeth playing in dive bars, gravitating to the guitar inspired by the blues of B.B. King as well as the soulful funk of Sly And The Family Stone. Her breakout moment came when videos of herself playing guitar on social media went viral during the pandemic. Since she has become one of the most in demand and celebrated young guitarists, and an inspiration to a whole new generation of female guitarists around the world. With a remarkable selection of firsts from her Grand Ole Opry debut on her eighteenth birthday, appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Originally from the Bay Area and now calling Nashville home, Bowers began garnering attention after sharing videos of herself playing guitar on social media during the pandemic. In the years since, she’s been featured on “CBS Mornings” in a piece focused on a new wave of young female guitarists, performed alongside Dolly Parton as part of her Pet Gala special on CBS, joined Lainey Wilson as part of CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live celebration, performed as part of the “Men’s Final Four Tip-Off Tailgate Presented by Nissan” and been sought after by everyone from Devon Allman to Tyler Childers and Susan Tedeshi to Kingfish.

Earlier this summer, Bowers also joined artists such as Slash and Brothers Osborne on the road, performed alongside Billy Idol at the Fired Up For Summer benefit concert and raised $30,000 with her 2nd Annual “Grace Bowers & Friends: An Evening Supporting Love, Life & Music” benefit show, $15,000 of which was donated to MusiCares®.
