Great American Taxi rolled thru Fort Collins CO on Wednesday, October 27th 2010. After having a month off the road, Taxi is gearing up for a big holiday weekend playing the Fillmore with Leftover Salmon on Saturday 10/30. If you’ve ever been to Hodi’s Half Note, when you stand outside you can look across the street and see signs for, “sense of place”, “designs”, and “mountain shop”. That pretty much sums up a little music joint like Hodis.
The Americana design of Great American Taxi is evolving at a rate faster than the taxi can travel! The music is polished, the show is full of flavor and pizzazz, and the people are friendly as could be. Watching people light up as they are smiled at from the stage makes for more and more lit up faces throughout. Before the drinks can even catch up, there is a feel good flowing through the little joint. I think to myself, Voodoo Doughnuts and Hodi’s Half Note will always thrive. They both feed people the feelings they want to have. Sugar and scene will suffice as GAT touches the northern Colorado folks on their way to the big city for their big Halloween show.
