Saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Joshua Redman brings his Where Are We tour to the Boulder Theater on March 12, 2025, in support of his latest album of the same name. Featuring the incredible vocalist Gabrielle Cavassa, Redman’s new work explores the American experience, melding jazz with elements of folk and pop, with his signature improvisational brilliance.

Redman’s Where Are We, his first release on the iconic Blue Note label, represents a bold new chapter in his illustrious three-decade career. For the first time, Redman incorporates vocals into his compositions, making Cavassa’s captivating voice the heart of this evocative project. Together, they will take the audience on a unique musical journey, exploring the U.S.A. through songs that honor American history, culture, and its complex realities.

Redman, who has long been one of jazz’s leading innovators, collaborated with a stellar ensemble for this album, including drummer Brian Blade, pianist Aaron Parks, and bassist Joe Sanders. Redman describes the record as “a celebration, an examination, and a meditation on America,” weaving together jazz, folk, blues, and pop in a richly textured performance. Audiences will experience re-imagined classics like “Stars Fell on Alabama” alongside bold new originals like Redman’s “After Minneapolis,” written in the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder.
