Electrifying Virginia-based jam-alt rock ensemble Kendall Street Company is thrilled to unveil their captivating new music video for “Petrified," a Halloween anthem that seamlessly blends slick, thunderous rock riffs with a reflective political edge. The video premieres today, just in time to add a dash of eerie excitement to your Halloween celebrations.

"Petrified" delivers a high-energy sonic experience, highlighted by anthemic vocals, scorching saxophone lines, and the haunting resonance of a theremin. Conceptually, the song explores the pervasive fear surrounding today's sociopolitical atmosphere. As frontman Louis Smith reveals, "I was watching the news one day recently and I started to cry, thus came the opening line: something today made me cry… it didn’t stop that day and thus came the chorus: seems to be a common theme, something today made me scream.”

The music video, inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, is a visual feast featuring the band members costumed as farm animals plotting their escape from the clutches of farmer death. Shot and directed by Tyler Scheerschmidt of Hourglass Productions, the video adds an imaginative layer to the song's powerful message.

In addition to "Petrified," Kendall Street Company has been actively engaging audiences with a series of fresh singles throughout 2024, including "El Perro Triste," "Porridge," and "Marijuana Timewarp," further establishing their reputation as innovative sound creators. Starting tonight, the band kicks off a run of shows supporting psychedelic funk act Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, with collaborative dates scheduled through mid-December. Following a pair of highly anticipated shows at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, the band will close the year in Charlottesville at the Jefferson Theatre on 12/23.

"We hope the song gets added to Halloween playlists and urges folks to get out and vote for the candidate that least terrifies them," the band suggests, encouraging listeners to embrace both the festive spirit and the reflective themes of the track.
