Today, LA’s Local Natives announce their North American tour that kicks off May 4 at BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, CA. The 13-date tour will go from New Mexico to Missouri and end in Santa Cruz, CA, with support from New York based alt-pop artist Uwade. The tour announcement follows their 2023 fifth studio album Time Will Wait For No One that arrived via Loma Vista and received critical praise from Billboard, UPROXX, Consequence, Paste and more.
Time Will Wait For No One was produced by GRAMMY-award winning producer John Congleton (Angel Olsen, Death Cab For Cutie, St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten), Michael Harris (Lana Del Rey, Feist), and Danny Reisch (Sun June, Other Lives).
Today, the band will livestream a concert on YouTube, featuring tracks off the album such as “NYE,” “”Just Before The Morning,” “Ava” and more at 9a PST / 12p EST, watch it HERE. Local Natives will also appear in the Wild Honey Pie’s “On The Mountain” season 4, a performance video series that will take place March 22-24 at Hunter Mountain and Glen Falls House in upstate New York.
Based in Los Angeles, the group progressed their sound over the course of five full-length albums, Gorilla Manor [2009], Hummingbird [2013], Sunlit Youth [2016], Violet Street [2019] andTime Will Wait For No One [2023]. In the span of one year the band performed twice on Jimmy Kimmel Live! For the first performance they were accompanied by Sharon Van Etten playing "Lemon feat. Sharon Van Etten" off the Sour Lemon EP. They closed out 2021 with a performance of Roxy Music’s “More Than This” from Music From The Pen Gala 1983, an EP coinciding with their appearance in the Apple Original Series The Shrink Next Door starring Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell. Local Natives have received praise from Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, The Guardian and many more.
