Canadian blues, soul, and rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Marcus Trummer is excited to announce the release of his new single, "Hard Time," available Friday, September 20th on all streaming platforms. The official music video for “Hard Time” is available to watch on YouTube HERE.
"Hard Time" is the third single from Trummer’s highly anticipated debut album, From The Start, set to be released on Friday, November 15th, 2024, via Gypsy Soul Records. The album is now available for pre-order on vinyl and CD HERE.
Speaking about the new single, Trummer says, “‘Hard Time’ is about the fact that love is ultimately what matters and is what we need to be aimed at spreading. Our world is truly a crazy and chaotic place, with what feels like endless division, conflict, and tragedy. With all the pain and suffering out there, I believe love is the only answer.”
Produced by Ross Hayes Citrullo (The Commoners) and Renan Yildizdogan (Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, Bywater Call), From The Start features Trummer’s distinctive blend of blues, soul, and rock. The album also boasts contributions from notable musicians, including members of The Commoners, Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar's horn section, and Gypsy Soul recording artist Nicky Lawrence on background vocals.
Marcus Trummer’s debut full-length album showcases his modern take on timeless sounds. Inspired by the greats of the 60s and 70s, Trummer channels the emotive vocals of Bill Withers and Al Green while displaying the guitar prowess of B.B. King and Jimi Hendrix. His introspective songwriting delves into universal themes of love, struggle, and coming of age, making him one of Canada’s rising stars in the blues and rock scene.
A recipient of the “Prophets of Music Emerging Artist Award” and winner of “Blues Recording of the Year” at Calgary’s YYC Music Awards, Trummer continues to build his reputation with a fresh sound steeped in rich tradition.
