Grammy Award winning folk group Old Crow Medicine Show are the latest legendary act to join the Cola Concerts fall lineup. The band will be joined by special guest Molly Tuttle for an incredible night of music Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Columbia Speedway Amphitheatre. Old Crow Medicine Show got their start busking on street corners in 1998, from New York state and up through Canada, winning audiences along the way with their boundless energy and spirit. They eventually found themselves in Boone, North Carolina where they caught the attention of folk icon Doc Watson while playing in front of a pharmacy. He invited the band to play at his festival, MerleFest, and the rest is history.

It’s been over twenty years since these humble beginnings. The band has gone on to receive the honor of being inducted as members of the Grand Ole Opry, and have won two Grammy Awards: “Best Folk Album” for Remedy (2014) and “Best Long Form Music Video” for Big Easy Express (2013). Additionally, their classic single, “Wagon Wheel”, received the RIAA’s Double-Platinum certification in 2019 for selling over 2,000,000 copies while the band’s debut album O.C.M.S. has been certified Gold (500,000 copies). The band’s latest release is Live At The Ryman (2019) which was released on Columbia via The Orchard. Old Crow Medicine Show’s latest endeavor was the Hartland Hootenanny, a variety show hosted on YouTube that featured music, storytelling, special guests, socially distanced square dancing and more.

Molly Tuttle

A virtuosic, award-winning guitarist with a gift for insightful songwriting, Molly Tuttle established herself as a new artist to watch with her boundary-breaking debut album, WHEN YOU’RE READY. What followed were dates at Telluride, Newport Folk Fest, an appearance on CBS Saturday Morning, and an enthusiastic reception both by critics and her fellow musicians.

Since moving to Nashville in 2015, the native Californian has been welcomed into the Americana, folk and bluegrass communities, winning “Instrumentalist of the Year” at the 2018 Americana Music Awards.  In March 2020, she experienced the devastating tornado that tore through much of East Nashville, followed by the global pandemic. She used that time to learn ProTools and recorded and engineered her new album with the help of renowned LA producer Tony Berg. The result is 10 tracks that cross the musical spectrum and the decades, from FKA Twigs to Cat Stevens, from Rancid to Karen Dalton, that will be released as …but i'd rather be with you on Compass Records.

This season will be different from past concerts at the speedway. The newly designed Columbia Speedway Amphitheater will be set up like a traditional amphitheater with a small VIP seated section near the stage followed by general admission lawn seating. This will ensure everyone has the perfect view of these incredible shows.

The Fall Cola Concerts lineup includes; The Revivalists & Michael Franti (8/28), Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit  which has been rescheduled to (9/2), Jake Owen (9/10), Sublime with Rome & Dirty Heads (9/11), Gov't Mule & Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (9/16), Ziggy Marley (10/5), Old Crow Medicine Show (10/15).
