Mumford & Sons will release their new album, RUSHMERE, on March 28 via Glassnote—their first since 2018’s Delta. Pre-order HERE.
To coincide, the band is also sharing its debut single, the album’s title track. A new video, capturing fans' palpable excitement at hearing the single for the first time, can be viewed HERE.
Mumford & Sons released their debut album, Sigh No More, in 2010, blending their unique take on a classic folk blueprint with an exhilarating and euphoric sound akin to a rock band. This album helped revive one of music’s earliest genres for a new century, propelling the band on an incredible journey.
Over the course of four albums, the British band has garnered numerous accolades, including two BRIT Awards and two Grammy Awards (notably Album of the Year), achieved multiple chart-topping, multi-platinum successes worldwide, headlined major festivals such as Glastonbury, and sold out arena tours, including their largest U.S. shows during the conclusion of the Delta tour in 2019. Their distinctive sound has influenced and inspired a new generation of artists, many of whom have found success in their own right. Few bands can claim a similar career trajectory.
Since their last album, the band members have pursued solo projects and reconnected with friends and collaborators. A recent prolific burst of songwriting has brought them back to the magic of where it all began: a leafy suburb of London.
RUSHMERE holds deep significance for Mumford & Sons. The pond on Wimbledon Common in southwest London is where Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane first hung out and imagined forming a band. RUSHMERE, as familiar to them as the instruments they played, is at the heart of their origin story.
This album marks the beginning of a new chapter for Mumford & Sons as a trio, following Winston Marshall’s departure in 2021. RUSHMERE is an emphatic return, born of an intense period of creativity.
Produced by six-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb, the album was recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, in Savannah, GA, and at Marcus’ studio in Devon, U.K.
Since Delta, Marcus Mumford released his self-titled debut solo album in Autumn 2022, and last year, the band collaborated with Pharrell on Good People.
Mumford & Sons are Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane.
