Pat Fulgoni has earned a reputation as a powerhouse vocalist who channels the very essence of the blues. From electrifying performances at SXSW in Austin, Texas—lauded by Billboard Magazine—to a storied career that has seen him cross multiple genres and global stages, Fulgoni now brings his soulful artistry home with the eponymous debut of the Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience.

Released on Chocolate Fireguard, the Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience album is the culmination of a three-year journey born out of a spontaneous gig for a local food bank fundraiser in Huddersfield, just before the Covid lockdowns. That night ignited a spark, leading to the formation of a band that has since torn up the festival circuit. From the Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival to Buxton Blues, Blues Alive (Czech Republic), Tenby Blues, Beatherder, and Solfest—plus intimate clubs including Huddersfield Blues Club and Bluesbury events—the Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience has become a sought-after live act across the UK and Europe.

This self-titled album is a sonic feast, blending original compositions like “Drifter” and “Keep The Blues Alive” with imaginative takes on classics such as “Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven” and “Midnight Train.” The result is a soulful, funky, and often psychedelic tapestry that both honors and reinvigorates the blues tradition. The closing track “Stickin The Knife In Blues” is a standout—a raw 12-bar epic showcasing Fulgoni’s impassioned vocal grit and keen social conscience.

The band’s chemistry is undeniable. Fulgoni’s vocals soar over the deft string work of young guitar talent Jacob Beckwith, the rock-solid bass and drum rhythms of Rory Wells and Zebedee Sylvester, and the lush keyboard stylings of Sam Bolt. Mixed by Crosscut Saw’s Alex Eden—who also lends skillful harmonica flourishes—this is a record that commands attention.
