Renowned Baltimore funk quartet, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, is thrilled to announce their forthcoming seventh studio album, Day in Time, set to debut on April 26, 2024. To celebrate the announcement, the band is releasing the album's title track today along with a vinyl and merch pre-order.
The highly anticipated single, "Day In Time," is a sonic journey encapsulating the band's signature psychedelic funk sound. The track is driven by propulsive guitars, an uplifting groove, and commanding vocals, with a half-time funk drop providing a dynamic contrast. The song features special guest Ben "Smiley" Silverstein (Smile High; The Main Squeeze), who weaves in his silky keyboard lines before launching into a soaring solo, culminating in an epic climax.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has built a reputation for electrifying live performances that captivate audiences from coast to coast. Comprised of "Scrambled Greg" Ormont [vocals, guitar], Jeremy Schon [guitar, vocals], Ben [bass, vocals], and Alex "Gator" Petropulos [drums, vocals], the band’s newest offering follows the release of album single “Alright Tonight,” released in fall 2023. The fresh material suggests the band continues to sharpen their impressive prowess in the studio, harnessing their hypnotic blend of funk, rock, and psychedelic groove.

The band, seasoned road warriors who have completed countless sold-out tours, will kick off their ‘Day In Time’ Winter Tour this weekend. The tour includes eleven shows down the east coast, including notable performances at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre (February 3), and two nights at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse (February 23 + 24). Later this year, the band will headline Yuba, WI’s Bonfire Music Festival (June 6-8), Swanzey, NH’s Northlands Music and Arts Festival (June 14-15), and appear at Las Vegas, NV’s Bender Jamboree.
