MAS invites music lovers to gather at The Savoy for an extraordinary evening of boundary-pushing sounds on Thursday, February 27. Award-winning banjoist, producer, and musical explorer Jayme Stone joins forces with the soul-stirring vocalist Alexa Wildish for a night of reimagined folk traditions, indie-pop originals, and global grooves that will transport you from Appalachia to Timbuktu.
Jayme Stone’s Folklife is a groundbreaking project that breathes new life into old field recordings—treating them like heirloom seeds ready to bloom in the modern world. Audiences can expect a vibrant tapestry of Sea Island spirituals, Creole calypsos, mesmerizing Appalachian stomp tunes, and more. Far from museum pieces, these songs speak to the here and now, merging centuries-old stories with contemporary contexts.
