Acclaimed singer-songwriter Craig Greenberg is set to release his first single of 2025, “She’s Gone and I’m Good For Nothing,” on January 31. The track marks the second single from his forthcoming full-length album (planned for later this year) and signals a vibrant new direction for the veteran musician.

Over the past 15+ years, Greenberg has self-released five albums, winning a devoted following for his dynamic piano-driven sound and evocative songwriting. With “She’s Gone and I’m Good For Nothing,” he pays homage to his longtime love affair with New Orleans, weaving in soulful piano motifs reminiscent of Dr. John and Leon Russell.

“New Orleans has become like another home to me outside New York,” Greenberg says. “I’ve been visiting regularly for almost 30 years and performing there for the last 10. Sooner or later it was gonna seep into my writing.”

Greenberg composed the majority of the song while spending two months in the Crescent City during the pandemic. The lyrics offer a poignant and relatable glimpse into relationship anxiety and rejection, underscored by the city’s signature rhythms and flavors.

“She’s Gone and I’m Good For Nothing” follows October 2024’s “Dissipating Energies” and was recorded at the Ice Plant in Long Island City, Queens. Greenberg and longtime collaborator Wayne Silver co-produced the track. In addition to vocals, Greenberg layers piano, synthesizers, and guitars, with Tony Tino on bass and Hiroyuki Matsuura on drums.
