Music, art, dance and above all, consciousness, will all bloom from the same good vibe bud June 26 through June 28 with the fourth installment of SONIC BLOOM. Set for the beautiful Mishawaka Ampitheatre, nestled in Poudre Canyon outside of Ft. Collins, Colorado, SONIC BLOOM is a whirlwind of camping, elite electronic music and human performance, all set to the earthy vibes of the Rocky Mountains. More than just a music festival, it’s a three day sonic adventure through the Unified Field Theory, the unification of all matter, forces and consciousness.
With names like Bassnector, EOTO + Kang + Kyle, ZILLA, Tipper, VibeSquaD, BoomBox and many more artists, 2009 promises to be every bit as huge as years past. Bassnectar fuses larger-than-life bass with all sides of the spectrum, creating a fuzzy and mind warping collage. Two thirds of The String Cheese Incident in EOTO + Kang + Kyle show of their sonic viability with a first collective appearance at SONIC BLOOM. The creators of the festival, ZILLA, are next up and consist of Jamie Janover, Aaron Holstein and Michael Travis of EOTO. Not to be forgotten on the bill is Tipper, who is known for pushing the boundaries of bass and dropping the breaks. Led by Aaron Holstein, the quirky, psychedelic beats of VibeSquaD are sure to turn heads. BoomBox returns to Colorado with their DJ meets live guitar/vocal innovation. Also billed are Bil Bless, Ana Sia, Random Rab, David Starfire, Beats Antique, Kilowatts, LYNX & Janover, Savoy, Mochipet and a host of others too many to name here. More than 20 acts will accompany the many performers and artists, as the festival is not music-centric.
SONIC BLOOM was born of the initial desire to throw an epic ZILLA 2-night show, with that notion quickly transforming into what is now the largest electronic and camping event between New York and California. What was once a small vision is now a full-blown festival to let the bass, fun and collective sight bloom? SONIC BLOOM returns to the magical and fan favorite Mishawaka Amphitheatre for the first time since ZILLA hosted the inaugural electronic event in 2006.The venue bodes well for the spirit of SONIC BLOOM, offering fans a unique sensory experience and chance to find music, nature and the human spirit all one the same plane. With a river flowing through the Poudre Canyon and surrounded by mountains, the nearly 100-year-old homestead turned venue is perfect for the enlightenment SONIC BLOOM promises. The experience is heightened with the opportunity for fans to camp in nearby National Forests, bringing each even closer to their own personal bloom.
