Americana and roots rock collective Ted Z and the Wranglers are proud to announce the release of their poignant new single, "Williamsburg." Available now on all major streaming platforms, the track serves as a heartfelt message from frontman Ted Zakka to his son, encapsulating themes of personal growth, redemption, and hope for the next generation.

"The idea behind the lyrics and feel of the tune was an ode to my son and a call to action to be a 'better man than me,'" Ted confides. "My past is riddled with questionable decisions, and there was a time where I was not extremely proud of my behavior. Much of that was a consequence of overindulgence in substances that were not beneficial to my growth as a person. The song is a reminder that people can make life changes and embark on a path of growth and light. It lends itself to the hope that the next generation will be wiser and more resilient and heed the advice of past mistakes by those that came first."

About Ted Z and the Wranglers

Hailing from Southern California, Ted Z and the Wranglers have carved out a unique niche in the music world with their blend of Americana, rockabilly, and roots rock. Formed in 2012 by singer-songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Ted Zakka, the band is known for its raw authenticity and evocative storytelling. Ted's gravelly, whiskey-drenched vocals paired with his passionate delivery set the tone for the group's distinctive sound.

The Wranglers—Jackson Leverone (lead guitar, vocals), Marcos de la Cruz (drums, vocals), Henry Clift (bass guitar, vocals), and James Hamilton (guitar, vocals)—provide a rich musical backdrop. Their tight rhythms, explosive guitar solos, and soulful vocal harmonies add depth and texture, creating a sound that is both timeless and contemporary.

Upcoming Album: "Kerosene"

Set for release later this fall, the band's new album "Kerosene" marks a significant evolution in their songwriting, incorporating more rock elements while staying true to their roots. "I believe that this album is our best work thus far," shares Ted Z. "It offers moments of contemplation but is also a fun and cohesive sonic ride. We want our listeners to be able to spin the entire album and feel a full gamut of emotions. It took a few years to finish this project, but that let us road-test these songs and grow together as a band, and I think you can hear that in the arrangements and performances."

Recorded and mixed by drummer Marcos de la Cruz at Firefly Music Studio in Orange County, California, "Kerosene" promises to be a landmark release for the band.

Tour Plans

To support the album release, Ted Z and the Wranglers are planning an extensive U.S. and European tour in 2024. Known for their electrifying live performances, the band is eager to bring their new material to fans worldwide.

Critical Acclaim and Past Achievements

Ted Z and the Wranglers have received acclaim from prestigious outlets like Billboard, which praised their music as "a foot-stomping honky-tonk revival," and No Depression. Their first label release, "Ghost Train," recorded at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, Texas, and produced by Monte Byrom (Big House, Eddie Money), catapulted them into the spotlight. Sharing stages with heavy hitters like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Steppenwolf, the band has built a loyal following with their relentless energy and passion.
