Brooklyn's Turkuaz has been bringing their nine-piece party music across the country all year and are on a break for two weeks before continuing a national run that ends on New Years Eve in Baltimore. Today, they announce a Winter 2018 headlining tour that starts in Detroit on January 9, crossing the country to end in with two shows with Galactic in Los Angeles on March 30 and San Francisco on March 31. A full list of tour dates can be found below and save for the previously announced shows with Galactic, all 2018 tickets go on sale Friday, November 17 at 10am local time.
Turkuaz recently released the scalding dance single “On The Run”, produced by Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads and along with the track comes a late-night-club-escapade video that stars Chris Roberti of Broad City and was shot at House of Yes in the band's hometown of Brooklyn.
The current tour has seen Turkuaz again gaining fans in every city they hit. Cleveland Scene says, “This band is relentless in the best way imaginable… To attend a Turkuaz show is to be surprised often and hard.” The Poughkeepsie Journal agrees, "Like a summer carnival on a Friday night, Turkuaz spins, climbs, rotates and revolves. Over the past two years, Turkuaz has impressed at Bonnaroo, Red Rocks, Lock'n and Mountain Jam, and been filling rooms coast to coast from Terminal 5 in New York to The Fillmore in San Francisco. Drawing from the conventions that have ignited their existence and using that spark to forge its own sword, Turkuaz is a band that will make anyone move to their familiar beat, yet stay intrigued by an ability to explore its own complex character comprised of nine striking personalities.
